About Janet L Watson Designs . . .

Janet L Watson started out in the hand painted needlepoint industry as a production painter and then designer for the Alice Peterson Company in 1976 as well as freelancing in illustration, surface painting and textile design. After graduating from film school in the late 1980s, she moved to West Hollywood and painted custom designs for various needlepoint shops in west Los Angeles. In 1990 she worked on “The Simpsons” television show as a color designer whilst moonlighting at an animation art gallery, designing and restoring vintage animation cels. She was then referred to Aristeia needlepoint shop and worked closely with owner, Betty Kaiser, gaining valuable feedback from customers and sharpening her designing and painting skills. She has produced many creations for individuals in the entertainment industry and a couple of her designs have been featured in film and TV. She has designed for distributor, Fleur De Paris and has now launched her own line of Janet L Watson Designs
